I was wonder what color grub works best for smallies in the Saint John River. I Know it depends on water color ,time of day and so on . Just wondering what colors to get in general . Anyhelp would be great . Also what size like 3 inch or bigger

My favorit by far are and the yum crawbugs in crawfish colour, for tubes watermelon is my fav, as well as green/pumkin, blue and black, black and yellow, for grubs, black, smoke silver flake, green, and bumblebee (yellow black and white) workks really good some days when nothing else will

I use dark ones also but....have had great success with chartruese...it is halfway between yellow and green...very bright..some with gold flecks in them. I also use the bass scent. I have had days where nothing else works..catch maybe 5 or 10 in 2 hours...switch to the chartuese with scent and wham...bass every 3rd or 4th cast. Watch the "drop"...I find bass like to hit on the fall better than the rise or retrieve.
