I fished the lake last weekend and saw a poster on one of the boat houses next to the loading ramp. Pickrel tournament on August 7. It's being put on by the Gyproc company with all proceeds being donated to a charity. $25 per person with top prize for the 3 longest pickrel. Figured I'd post it here in case anyone was interested. Sorry, I don't remember exactly what the charity was. The lake is located in McAdam.

is this a live weigh in at the end, a picture tourney or dead or alive? the back of my kayak can work as a live well, but it's a lot messy, okay for perch but i don't think a sizeable pickeral would be a good idea back there, for the fish or for me....lol
i have that day off and so does everbody i work with - so this is a real possibility. anybody know anything else about this tourney?

Be good to see lots of interest. It's a good cause and a great lake for pickeral. Should be a great lake for kayaks, it's relatively small amd doesn't normally get overly rough.

The tournament went off without a hitch. 50 participants raised over $1100 for the charity. Fishing was poor with the weather change but fish were caught. There were a few children under 12 in the tournament and it was fun even though the wind and colder temperatures made for a different kind of day.

i'm sorry i missed it, but my kayak carrier (car...lol) wasn't ready yet. i'm glad to hear it went well.
