Anyone ever try Stroft tippet material?

I just got a spool from a friend and cannot believe the strength to diameter ratio.

This stuff is the cats meow when it comes to tippet.

Here's a comparison:

Stroft ABR tippet Maixma Chameleon

9.2 pounds ---------------- 4 pounds ---- same diameter
11.2 pounds ---------------- 5 pounds ------------ "
14.1 pounds ---------------- 6 pounds ------------ "
16.1 pounds ---------------- 8 pounds ------------ "

Stroft ABR is great for abrasion and is not shinny like other tippet materials giving virtually no glare due to sun rays.

I got 2 spools of the 9.2 lbs, 14.1 and 16.1 pound test getting shipped from a fly shop in Washington. Same length as Maxima spools at the same price with the dollar next to parr.

Hopefully I will be able to bring in salmon faster and get them back to the water quicker.

I tried Stroft a couple of years ago. I recall that is was floppier than Maxima and ended up making more knots in it. I find that Maximan lays out better. The other thing is the increased test weight means you will not be able to break off a stubborn fish and may end up exhausting it. Just my thoughts.
