Hey guys,

I have never gone up near the Mirimichi system for any great Salmon fishing. Mainly because, I don't know exactly where to go, nor do I know anybody up in that area.

However,

My girlfriends father lives in the Rexton area, with plenty of family in the Richibucto area too. I was wondering if there is any Salmon fishing in the Rexton or Richibucto areas?

Looking at maps, the Northumberland goes threw the Rexton area. Would that have good Salmon fishing? Or, any other Rivers in that area?

Any information would be great, as I'd love to go up there and do some fishing with the father-in-law, especially for Salmon.

Thanks.

I am from Richibucto and there is no open season for salmon in Richibucto area. The closest river system to Richibucto/Rexton that is open to salmon fishing is the Miramichi.

Thank-you for your reply. That's a shame, I figured there would be some nice Salmon fishing in that area. As it has the Northumberlain Straight, and plenty of rivers/brooks near the area coming off of the Ocean.

I would imagine (though unsure), that Salmon run threw the area. Shame there is no open season. I guess i'll have to plan a trip next year to Doaktown or another spot up North. I would this year, but, the weather is just way too warm for any good fishing.
