What are you using for wing material in those colourful undertaker-style varieties? It is hard to tell with the feathers in the background. Also, why the hook choice instead of the standard slamon hook? Not that it will matter, as I agree with you that these flies will raise fish.

Sparse black squirrel and grey squirrel for the blue one. I use the Mustad 3399A hook since it has a nice gap and hooks solid. You can tie a nice small fly on a hook that will hold well unlike some of the up eye hooks that tend to have a real small gap in the smaller sizes.

Great tip, thanks I see your point about hook gap.

Squirrel tail has a nice movement to it which can only be appreciated when watching the fly in the water. I have had good luck in past with Ally's Shrimp and Lady Joan which I attribute to this.

im having great luck on your shady ladies scott, the number 6 you tied with copper flash worked wonders the other night, green machine wouldnt produce and first time i threw that out over a spot they were holding BANG fish on
