i plan to NBborn...of course, that was my plan for the last 2 nights - now that it's wet out instead of nice with now wind (duh!) i'll probabley make it. i really ment to go last night, just because i know i caught 2 stripers on that day last year, but i was just to tired, i just changed shifts.
anyway, hopefully tonight, north end most likely. if i were you, i might try both spots. the dock works best from about an hour before low tide to just after high tide, high tide having fewer number but larger fish. the north end goes best either 1 1/2 hours before low to an hour or so after low, and again from high tide to about 4 hours after high. this also can depend on lots of current...or no current.
both are tricky at low tide for hooking fish and bottom, the dock is very easy to fish at high tide, north end can still be a lure eater.

a lot of the time, i find it fishes best when i'm there.... (pun intended...lol) it's hard to catch them without a line in the water, and stripers can get hungry any time. hmmm now where is that striper bag....

I might try to make it this weekend. I've never bee striper fishing in NB and can't wait to try it. Went to Doiron's last year and got some gear. I've been watching this site some to try to learn more. I LOVE THIS SITE. Glad it's back. If you guys know when you think it would be good on the weekend, I'd love your suggestions...

I also just bought a 14ft Lowe Bass Boat with a 25HP Merc. Can't wait to go out. If anyone knows any good spots and wants to go out on a boat, I'll be going out as often as I can after this weekend.

Hey ipop, fishing has been good this year, except I haven't bothered to try any striper fishing yet. I'm busy with smallmouth right now and it's been awesome so far, going to maine this weekend to try my luck with Largemouth. Glad to hear you guys are getting a few, I might have to dig out the big rod and the striper gear soon. I'm sure i'll see ya soon at the falls or north end.

Hey Chris, where do you go around here for Small Mouth? I know it's good in Oromocto area, but I just bought a bass boat and I can't wait to go for small mouth. I'd like to try it on week nights, so I'd like to stay nearby. Think that would be possible... I live in Quispam!

Oh, and I'm still hoping to try for stipers at the dock soon...

Rick I go for SM bass in the Hammond and Kennebecasis. It's kind of slow right know because of post spawn but it should pick up soon. Spring and early summer are really good. You could launch your boat in Hampton or Meehans cove

Hey Rick, like nbborn said you can get them in the Kennebecasis and Hampton but he's right it is kind of slow right at the moment, post spawn and i'm sure the gaspereau and shad run didn't help any. I was up the other day in Hampton and from what I could tell the run is over and done. I did get some bass but nothing of any size ( the biggest being around 13 inches ) and a 16inch pickerel. Should start to get much better in the next week or two. Good luck man and congrats on the new boat, We just got a new bass boat this year as well and love it!!

i still just have the one keeper from shore. jim has landed about 16 keepers recently and so has dave, not counting last night (no info yet), all from a boat in the falls. a lot of very fat fish they say. they also have been skunked a couple times. from shore has been on and off, hillbilly and i are trying again tonight. the tide timing hasn't lined up well lately, this week should be better.

catch&release, it all depends.

fishing the falls from a boat? = high tide/inward run

fishing from shore? now it gets tricky!! lol

*below the falls, it's mostly incoming, and about an hour either side of low tide. there are exceptions, high tide has been awesome...just not often!

*at the falls/ jet boat area if ya can get there = low tide. the "corral" just below it = high tide only or you will lose your gear to massize weeds.

*at the falls/ beach just up from the lookouts = high tide/end of incoming.
(for these last 2 take bug repelant...and lots off it!)

*above the falls/ north end = mostly outgoing tide, from just after high tide to just after full low, and any time there is current.

tight lines

I think this place warrants its own topic. When is the tide best for fishing at the falls? I'm thinking about giving it a shot tonight either under the restaurant or at the end of main street. Anybody else heading out tonight?
Hi guys, It's great to be back! The falls now is on fire! There are huge stripers going through. A couple buddies of mine have broken off fifty lb. braided on fish on a couple different occasions, so go prepared.
