Restigouche River Reports

6449 Views 8 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Jamie
I have found a few web sites that give reports and updates on how the fishing is on the Mirimichic River system (links below for thoes who are interested). Does anyone know of any places to find out how the fishing is on the Restigouche system. I am headed up there at the end of June and was wondering where I could find some information.

Thanks
Jim

The Restigouche River Lodge provides reports of activity at their camp. I am interested in reports as well since I am off to Larry's Gulch on the weekend!
Thanks, I see that they put a report up June 8. There are some fish in their water which is good news.
How did you make out at Larry's Gulch?
Only two fish caught by the entire party...but luckily I got one of the two. I got the first of the year at the gulch.
anyone know where someone could go on the Restigouche system for a day trip. Keep in mind I have no canoe.
or even an outfitter that has daily rates as I am staying in Campbellton for a week.
hey i was wondering if there was a place u could fish for salmon near edmunston/ saint-quentin i was coming down from quebec and wanted to try my luck for maybe an hour or 2 on the way down... if someone could send me a private messag just to point me toward a public pool it would be greatly be appreciated. one told me u took near the irving in saint-quentin but i look on google map but cant find a river near so i have no clue where to go

That would be near the Irving mill in Kegwick. Their is a fork in the road comming from Campbelton, turn right and head out till you hit a 4 corner in the road, then turn left and stay on this road, it will be a dirt road for a few milles and then back to pave. Just keep going staight till you hit the river, its probably a 20-30 min drive from the fork by the irving mill. Now for public pools im not shure where they are. I only used this to acces the river for canoing. But i think their is a public pool by the bridge that crosses the river, i thinks thats the lowest Open water pool and its open up river from their, but im 100% about that. Its been a few to years since ive been their.
I know this is an old post, but does anybody know the fishing conditions on the Restigouche? I'm heading there in the morning for three days.
I fished the kedgwick, little main restigouche and the upsalquitch rivers last week and it was slow. Lots of big fish in the rivers but the locals said that the water was just too warm. Between the 4 of us we only landed 2 grilse and hooked 2 salmon all week. Raised a few more but thats it. Water level seemed to be good for motoring on all 3 systems we were on. Green machines and small brown bugs were making the most action for us. Had lots of fun though, beautiful country up there with water as clear as can be so there is no guessing if there is fish or not. Catching fish while fishing is just a bonus anyway isn't it? Good luck.
