Hi pond jumper,I know from past postings that you live near maquapit lake, and I would like to know two things from you, first - is there a public boat launch on that lake and second I heard that a person had to be careful crossing from French lake going into Maquapit lake because there was some kind of logs or rocks around the two bridges, is this true? Hey ronnie, there arent many places to put a boat in on maquapit but two easiest places that are quick boat rides into, one is at the steel bridges at French, as long as you put your boat in off the launch(on the sharp turn before the bridge or in between) and stay in the channel on the right going twrds maquapit you will be fine, channel is marked, and is quite deep, you can take the other one also, there is good fishing in that one but it is VERY tricky as there are the old bridge pilings, if you dont know exactly where they are you will hit them, best bet is if you want to go that way, pull up motor and use trolling motor to get in past bridge. The other spot is at Indian point in Grand, from there you can take the main throughfare out into maquapit. One other spot is right on Maquapit and is at the causeway on Rt 69, it isnt really a launch but we use it often, there is a road tht goes down to the lake and you launch ur boat right in front of the pipe, its plenty deep enough and once out around the "island" you are about in the middle of the lake and can go either direction . Depending in what you have for a boat, like Frnech and Indian most of maquapit is plenty deep enough, the end closest to Frnech and grand is mostly marked but the other end isnt, if you venture to the far end don't go to close to shore as it turns form about 7 feet of water to less than 2 very quickly and there no markers...hopes this helps, anyu more questions just ask
