Since you posted in the "Trout" forum, I am guessing you are talking about flyfishing for trout. I was out this past Tuesday. Water was high and silty from all the rain runoff. I expect it should have cleared up by now. We did find a few trout.
I was out on the kennebecasis the morning of July 4th practicing with my spey rod. The water was 64 degrees F. at 10:00 in the morning. I would think it has warmed up quite a bit since then. Not sure if there were any trout around, I had yarn on the end of my line but the water was perfect for July.
I was out last night and the fishing was good, one was about 12-13" was up there about 6 till dark lots of fish and water temps was good
what part of nb is the river guys
Kennebecasis River
It starts up above Sussex near Goshen and connects to the St John River just a mile or so above the Reversing Falls in Saint John.

The age old question that some twit asks each year but this year, ............ it happens to be ME asking. LOL

Coming from Moncton, the river crosses the highway by the Pine Cone or the Lone Pine Campground ..... I can't quite remember what it is called. Is this area to the LEFT or the RIGHT of the highway open to fishing with bait such as worms or is it fly only. If fly only does it have to be barbless?

As well, what stretch of this river is fly only and which parts are catch and release only?

If your answer can be specific it would be appreciated. I don't have access to a GPS so coordinates men nothing to me until I get one.

Thanks,

RObert

This question was asked earlier this year and thoroughly covered in this post: http://newbrunswickfishing.com/forums/index.php?/topic/78-kennebecasis-question/
I usually fish in the Kenn.. May/till mid-June... However I was wondering how's trout fishing in September?
Trout season ends in mid September...the 15th.
if you can go after a rain, early sep. is great for trout of good size. unfortunatley you mostly end up battleing low water or "chocalate milk" streams. you can get away with a little more flash, bigger nymphs.
