News from the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF)

ASF congratulates long-time salmon conservationist, Fred Parsons, of Grand Falls-Windsor in Newfoundland, who was recently honoured by the tourism association of Newfoundland and Labrador. He has worked tirelessly to improve the health of the Exploits River, and its salmon runs, and this is paying off for the region's economy.

Meanwhile, Don Foster, President of the ASF - Maine Council, sets the record straight on what restoring the Penobscot River will mean for Maine, including development of its economy, in a Letter to the Editor of the Bangor Daily News:

Don Ivany, ASF's Director for NL, outlines in this podcast the shortcomings of Newfoundland and Labrador's approach to forest use planning, that doesn't look at the rivers as economically important.
