I am the wife of a fly fisherman and want to surprise him with fly fishing near where we will be staying in St Andrews. I know he would prefer a more secluded area and I'd like to come as well with our infant daughter so we'd need somewhere open enough for us to hang out on the bank. We will not be able to drive more than 2 hours from St Andrews. My husband doesn't have a preference as to what he fishes for as far as I know.

There is a good spot up above the Milltown border crossing, has an area kids can play at, and lots of room for a back cast. Good spot for bass and pickerel.

You should also try the park in downtown st. stephen at low tide, as there are several spots down over the hill from the Gazebo that hold bass and some other small fish....

Hope this helps....I fish there often.

Sounds great! Could you give me a little bit more specific direction as to where the spot is above the milltown border crossing? I'm looking on googlemaps. Your help is hugely appreciated, its my husband's first father's day and I want it to be special. I am assuming the spot above the border crossing is more secluded than the spot within the city? I know he would prefer a more secluded stream - thanks again!
