Hi, I am new to fishing, but not boating on the river, been boating on the Kennebecasis for 10+ years and never once tried fishing.

Its time!

Just wondering where to go fishing?

Any good spots to go by boat?

Just wondering what the best bait?

Just wondering what the best lures to use?

Just wondering best times?

I don't really have any buddies that fish.. but i see a lot of people going and a lot people fishing?

I would like to stay close to Meehans Cove Area

any suggestions would be helpful?

Thanks

Try under the various docs for small mouth bass, weedbeds for pickerel. Go to where the Hammond joins the kennebecasis to fish for sturgeon, and anywhere along the river from Meenans Cove to Hampton for striped bass. You will need heavy gear for sturgeon and striped bass, but most rods with 8 to 10 pound line will work fine for pickerel and small mouth .

Hi anyone know whether the red and green buoys at the mouth of the Kennebecasis river do they remove them for the winter or they leave them there and re-set them if need to in spring in case the ice move them. Reason for asking is I want to fish sturgeon from boat however best time to fish these is well into November.
