I haven't been to Little River or Pollett River yet this year. But overheard a fella at Walmart last week saying that there are lots of smallies in Little River. While easedropping on the conversation...
....I didn't hear him mention anything about Salmon.

The only place I've fished in Salisbury so far this season is the Petitcodiac River. Some good sized trout in the Petty.

where about on the peti right in Salisbury at the bridge? There's been a lot of talk of Sea Trout in the Peti. system.I've seen no evidence of "bright" fish.I fished these rivers for the last ten years. These big trout are just river fish. There are however lots of Gaspereau in the Peti. system right now, which is a sign of good things to come, maybe one day the Stripers will follow them up.I don't agree with people asking for spots on an open forum.Learning the river and how to fish is a big part of the game!It shows you live in Salisbury? You should be the one giving the advice!LOL!

i've never fished the petti or anywhere in Salisbury that is why I asked the question. People on this site are always looking for advise and new fishing spots to try, since we are all for the conservation of fish there should be enough to go around.

It could have been a salmon or shad. I have seen alot of shad lately in the rivers around NB

for the jumping . I'm positive it's not a trout .. trout don't jump to the extent of seeing 18" .. they roll and slurp .. shad they will roll and flash a siver goldish color I have never seen one break water .. i could be wrong .. as it is only what i have seen fishing shad before .. gaspreux will cause a splash that will make you think .. what the heck but in sense it's a school that is much like ducks they follow the leader .. and anyone encountering a schools of those will know they travel in big groups and when one goes to the top they all follow even if it causes them to be on top of each other hence the breaking of water and looking like a massive fish jumping ..
