Two of us picked up 65 on Sunday. Fishing was best right before dark. They were taking shrimp really well, but had a hard time keeping the bait on the hook. Used some of those jarred red salmon eggs and had great luck as well and they stay on the hook really well. Good mix of size, but most in the 8" range.
Got 36 pickerel and 15 perch on French lake sunday, fish were hitting very well, not many perch other than few a few big ones...using live minnows on tip-ups and buckshot spoons tipped with minnow heads on jig rods...most fish caught jigging..ice was decent little slush on top but not bad...this rain and freezing temps this week should make for great ice conditions next weeknd
Have been having good luck with the perch, between 20 and 40 each time out. Was out Monday a few hours finally got into a few pickerel, three in a row out of the same hole in three consecutive drops. Great fun. Have been using mostly gulp and power bait, small jigs, rattle spoons and the Lindy Darter. Not crazy over the two layer ice, hopefully current conditions will remedy that.
