The Canaan is a dandy river. If you start fishing it at the rt 126, you will pickup mostly brook trout. The further down river you go, the more species you will see. Most everything that swims in the province can be found in the Canaan. As you near Coles Island, we start to get closer to the Washademoak Lake. Bass. pickeral, all kinds of "junk fish" abound. I am sure it's just a matter of time before we hear of muskies in the Canaan system.
