3 day trip planned

Hi, I'm new to this forum and thought I'd throw a question out and see if anyone could help me out. I have a 3 day trip planned to Fredericton coming up from Aug. 12-15. I am looking into a charter in St. Andrews, but would like to do some kayak and river fishing as well. It looks like the St. John river is very close to where I am staying, so I will probably try there a few times. Would like to try these massive striped bass everyone is talking about. If anyone could suggest what kind of gear to bring and places to try that'd be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

The Saint John River has a great fishery for smallmouth bass, muskie, chain pickerel, pan fish, striped bass and sturgeon. A guide can really put you on the fish quick but for muskie I think it's about $350 a day. Marlon Prince is one I would recommend. All the species are available around Fredericton and a kayak would suffice. Chain Pickerel is typically fished for around Indian, French, Maquapit Lakes. Guides will have the gear but if you bringing your own medium power rods will work except for the muskie and stripers. Those puppies need heavy and extra heavy power rods and reels. Tight lines!
