Now that the cold weather is settling in, I would ask the locals if they might keep us updated on the ice conditions as they develop. Anxious to get out asap. Cheers

By now I expect there is good ice, so I plan to go down on Saturday. Anybody have news on how the fishing has been thus far? Thanks

Drove by monday. No ice huts out. open water spots above and below Public landing. I think the high water is holding us back.

Thanks Bucbug. I went down yesterday (Saturday) with my son and his partner and my pop up tent. There was another couple from Fton Junction as well as a local fellow. Ice is about six inches, but you are probably right the water is still a bit high. No shacks as yet either. In the three hours we were there, my sons partner caught three tommy cod. None of the rest of us fishing caught a single smelt. So I am guessing the smelt have not made it up this far yet. I will try in a week or maybe two. Would appreciate any updates on when the smelt run starts. Cheers!
