Hello Everyone,

Some friends and I are going to do some fishing the next couple of days.  We are thinking of doing some pickerel and bass fishing.  We are going to go to Chipman for the pickerel and then wanted to try around the Fredericton area for bass.  I know the rain last week has made the rivers high.  We were thinking of trying Harvey Lake.  Has that been any good this year?  Is there a public launch?  Any other lakes in the area that anyone knows about would be greatly appreciated.  We were not looking to go as for as McAdam for those lakes.

Thanks in advance for any information.

There is a public launch with loads of parking right at entrance to Harvey Lake, lots of bass but they seem to be towards the back of lake in the rockier areas.

Hi back of lake means toward the north west end of the lake? I agree they like rockier areas. Would you recommend little harvey?

I have never fished the little harvey so I can't comment. I have caught nice bass and landlock salmon in the big lake though.

As for the direction, I am not sure, but looking at the map now I would say yes "northwest" end of lake is correct.

Last night the smallies were biting at the mouth of the nashwaak. Had 5 in less than 20 minutes, 3 were on consecutive casts. Overall I had 9 over the course of an hour (or so) with the bulk of them between 9 and 12 inches, one at almost 16 and one at around 4.5. Six of those were on a Hedon Torpedo. God I love topwater action!!!

I've caught lots of smallies there as well.  Right off the effluent pipe of the sewage treatment plant is where they usually hang out :)
