Technically trout season is only closed from September to January, as ice fishing for trout is permitted (on certain water bodies) from January to March. If you're REALLY desperate for trout, I'd suggest picking up a fly rod, getting a salmon license, and hitting the river in search of Salmon. You might just get lucky and catch a trout along the way. Or, you might get even luckier and catch a salmon haha. Of course, you can't keep them, and you can't actively target trout. That being said, I caught one of my top 5 trout of the season yesterday while salmon fishing, so it's definitely worth pursuing.
