Some of you know, my boat was stolen last year. I retrieved a few months later, but it was stripped, including the outboard (still missing). I found the electric trolling motor a week later at a pawn shop.
I bought this 2017 Yamaha 20HP 4stroke short shaft, but my transom is too short for it when I went to install it, so I build a jack plate.

Nice video!  When you located your trolling motor in a pawn shop, did that not lead to the person who pawned (and presumably stole) it? I've always been curious about that.  And sorry that you weren't able to recover the whole outfit.

I made a jackplate for mine in much the same way, only with wood in the middle. 

10 years later it is still going strong. I'm sure you will have the same good luck with your setup.
