Was there Sunday.  Fishing was good.    Ice is pretty much the same as the weekend before.   6 inches of white ice plus a couple inches of snow... we didn't venture out too far though...

 

Where do people get these spears they're using for smelt?    That looks like it would be a lot of fun!

Spearing is all I do now. It's a hoot!  If you have kids, they can't get enough of it.

Thinking hard on going out this weekend to Rexton for some smelt fishing. I had only tried once a few years back with no luck. I went out by the church on water street I believe. Anyone having any luck there lately ? Like to take the boys out for a bit. What is best time of day ? Thanks

After this warm weather be sure to test out the ice. Under 4" of ice tonight at spots.
