From what I can see, you only need a license in tidal water to keep Atlantic Salmon and since there is no season this end of the province for salmon then everything else is ok. See the link below

I am under the impression that you can also ice fish any non-sportfish species in tidal waters between Jan 1st and March 31st. Ice fishing can be done in tidal waters through a man-made hole in the ice, or from shore through a natural opening in the ice....

Am I correct in saying you can fish in tidal waters all year round but you can only fish for species open all year round. For example you cannot fish for Perch now but you can fish for Stripers.

no we didn't get anything at all, we were in the Kenebecasis near Darlings Island that time, last Nov 21 we got some pickerel out of Darlings Lake
